    Day 5 Mumbai to Aurangabad

    Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your Explore India representative and escorted to your hotel. After check-in, set out for a half-day journey to the awe-inspiring Ajanta Caves.

    Carved into volcanic rock between 200 BC and 650 AD, the Ajanta Caves are a masterpiece of Buddhist art and devotion. These ancient sanctuaries, hidden for centuries and rediscovered in 1819, showcase exquisite murals, intricate sculptures, and vivid depictions of the Buddha’s life and teachings.
